Tennis: Barbora Krejcikova wins her first French Open

Tennis: Barbora Krejcikova wins her first French OpenAs the 2021 French Open tennis tournament comes to a close, we have a new women's singles champion. She is Barbora Krejcikova.

Krejcikova of the Czech Republic beat Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final on Saturday. This is Krejcikova's first Grand Slam title. With this win, she also becomes the first Czech women’s singles champion since 1981.

In tennis, the Grand Slam tournaments are the world's four most important annual tennis events. They are the French Open, US Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, in men's doubles, France's Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert are the new champions. They beat Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev and Alexander Bublik in the final.

As for the mixed doubles of the tennis tournament, Desirae Krawczyk and Joe Salisbury are the new champions.

In men's singles, Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals. So, now, Djokovic will face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the tournament final today.
