The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling!The Jungle Book is a collection of short stories written by the English author Rudyard Kipling. The book was first published in 1894. Most of the characters in the story are animals, like Shere Khan the tiger and Baloo the bear.

However, one of the main characters is the boy or "man-cub" Mowgli. He is raised by wolves in the forest. The stories take place in "Seonee" (Seoni) a forest in Madhya Pradesh, India

Mowgli, an Indian boy who is raised by wolves, is the main character in most of the stories.
 	He learns how to be independent and wise from the other animals in the forest.
 	This book is also about how wolves get along with each other.
 	And, in a more fantastic way, about the way the jungle works.
 	Akela the wolf, Baloo the brown bear, Shere Khan the proud Bengal tiger, and Tabaqui the jackal are some of the animals whose stories are told in the book.
 	The magic in Kipling's stories comes from the everyday things that people do.
 	Village life goes on as usual in the background of the stories. For example, buffalos walk through the shallow, muddy water, women walk to the well, and men wander into the jungle.
