The longest recorded tennis match lasted for 11 hoursThe longest ever recorded tennis match was between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut. It lasted for 11 hours and five minutes! But don't worry, the match was played over 3 days.

The match was played in England on 24 June 2010. It was in Wimbledon's 2010 first-round match.

This very-long match finally ended with a passing shot down the line by Isner, who won. The players hugged each other at the net and fell on the ground with delight.

This match was merely a first-round match between two comparatively less known players. But even so, this game will remain memorable in the hearts of people. It was more popular than many a Grand Slam final. It was not because of the stakes, or the quality of play but because of the entire match involved.
Memento
Just after this "longest tennis match", the All England Club gave both players and the match umpire a special memento to celebrate the occasion. They also took photographs of the occasion.

In the game, there were 980 points overall. While Mahut won more points overall, Isner won the most important point on the last one.

The match went on so long for two reasons. The first one was that neither of them could break the other’s service. And the other was the rules of Wimbledon, in which there is no tie break in the fifth set.
