The nation of IcelandToday, let's visit the land of ice and snow, aptly named 'Iceland'.

Iceland is a mountainous island nation in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Located between Europe and North America, it is the world's 18th largest island.
 	Iceland was first inhabited* by Nordic and Celtic people in the 9th century CE.
 	It has a population of 360,390.
 	The capital of Iceland is Reykjavík. It is also the country’s largest city.
 	Iceland's official written and spoken language is Icelandic.

Iceland is at the juncture of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
 	It is a volcanically and geologically active area while 10% of it is covered with glaciers.
 	Surprisingly, the country has a pleasant climate, despite all the ice around, due to the presence of numerous geothermal hot-spots and hot springs*.

Iceland has so many wonderful sights to see.

During summer, the Sun sets around 2.00 a.m. in the night. This midnight sun is a beautiful sight, definitely worth seeing!.

Vatnajökull National Park and Pingvellir National Park - Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
 	Northern Lights - a natural phenomenon which occurs in polar regions.
