However, a new planting mission can help to solve environmental problems caused due to climate change.

In order to fight the climate crisis, one million seagrass 'wonder plant' seedlings are being planted in Wales, UK.

This is one of Britain's largest project of its kind. One million seagrass seeds have been collected this summer from various sites around the country.
 	The seeds will now be cultivated and then planted in West Wales, to grow into a 20,000 sq m seagrass meadow.
 	According to research, the UK has lost 92% of its seagrass over the last century.
 	The project will help in the largescale restoration of sea-grass and will further control the effects of climate change.
 	It will also increase the number of fish and support marine wildlife like seahorses.

What is seagrass?

It is a 'wonder-plant' that lives in shallow, sheltered areas along the coast.
 	It captures carbon up to 35 times faster than tropical rainforests and absorbs 10% of the ocean’s carbon each year.
 	This means that seagrass can control the effects of climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide faster than trees.
