This award-winning photo of an orangutan will dazzle you

This award-winning photo of an orangutan will dazzle youA photographer named Thomas Vijayan took the amazing photo (above) of an orangutan clinging to a tree. It has won him the top prize at the Nature TTL Photography Awards.

The photo is called The World is Going Upside Down. Vijayan took the photo on the island of Borneo. He says he waited for hours to take this photo. It has an 'upside-down' effect it shows the reflection of the orangutan in water.

Some facts about orangutans

Orangutans are great apes found in the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They have long arms and short legs. They also have reddish-brown hair covering their bodies.

These apes are known to be extremely intelligent. Unfortunately, there are very few of them alive today and many wildlife organisations are trying to save them.
