This June, see Jupiter and its largest moons with binocularsThis month, Jupiter will be clearly visible in the night sky.

A pair of binoculars* will be enough to see the shape of the planet and its four brightest moons.

Jupiter will be closest to Earth this month.
 	NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has said that Jupiter "is at its biggest and brightest this month".

From where can we see the best view?

People living in the southern hemisphere will have the best views of Jupiter.
 	But people all over the world will also be able to see it.

Mark your calendars for 10th June
The best view would be on 10th June when Jupiter reaches opposition (the yearly occurrence when Jupiter, Earth and the Sun are arranged in a straight line).

From June 14 to 19, one can see a "beautiful line-up" of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn.
 	This "line-up" will change each night as the Moon orbits the Earth.

*Binoculars: An instrument used for viewing distant objects.
