UNICEF: Many Indian students lack skills for 21st century jobsThe United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) says that more than 50% of current Indian students are not going to have the required skills for 21st-century jobs.

According to UNICEF, the gap between skills and demand in the job market is increasing among South Asian students.
 	Currently, only 19% of Indian students seem to be on the right learning track.
 	It pointed out that the education system and the current role of teachers are to be blamed for this scenario.
 	The situation is all the more worrisome as about 100,000 youth enter the job market every day.

As employment and jobs are important to lift people out of poverty, it becomes subsequently important to impart useful skills to the youth.

With the unemployment rate at 8.45%, most sectors including IT, telecom and auto are facing an ongoing slowdown, and joblessness is set to rise.

India's National Education Policy is an important tool that can help correct the problems in the education system. The right policy can bring changes at all levels.
