Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022

The Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 have officially begun. The opening ceremony will be attended by President Xi Jinping and world leaders from around the world.  The torch relay was held on 2 February that included more than 1,200 torchbearers. One of the torchbearers, regiment commander Qi Fabao was honoured by the Chinese military. He participated in the Galwan Valley clash on 15 June 2020.

On Wednesday, Beijing held a torch relay with 1,200 torchbearers. Among them, Qi Fabao was honoured by the Chinese military for his participation in the Galwan Valley clash on June 15, 2020.

In addition, Jackie Chan (Hollywood movie star) and table tennis Olympic champion were among the torchbearers during the Olympic Torch Relay.

Google Doodle

The Beijing Winter Olympics takes place from 4 February to 20 February. Over 3000 athletes from around the world will be participating in the games in almost 109 different events.

The search engine giant (Google) has marked the occasion with an animated doodle. The tag line “Together for a Shared Future”. The doodle has adorable animations of tigers, rabbits, so our readers should definitely check it out.

Sporting events

Over 2600 athletes are set to participate in 109 events. From Ice hockey to skating to skiing and many more. Taking caution during the pandemic, athletes, officials and all the staff will be kept in secure “bubbles”.
