Significance of World Day for Safety and Health at Work!
When we go to work, we spend a lot of time there, so it’s important to keep healthy standards there in order to avoid problems at work. Every year, a day called World Day for Safety and Health at Work is held to make people aware of work accidents.
This day was set aside by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to focus on preventing workplace accidents and illnesses around the world. It is basically a campaign to make people aware of the new things that are happening in the field of occupational safety and health.
Brief History of Safety and Health at Work Day!
In 2003, the International Labour Organization (ILO) wanted to show how important it is to keep people safe. To make this happen, they tapped the ILO’s strengths of working together and talking with each other to make it happen.
This is a good way for people to learn about how to keep their jobs safe and healthy. This day also makes safety and health at work more visible in politics. Also on 28 April is the International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers, which trade unions have been holding since 1996.
