World Heart Day – 29 September

Recommended for Foundational Grades

Happy World Heart Day!

We celebrate this day to let more people know about the importance of a healthy heart and its common diseases.

The heart is the organ in the body that pumps blood throughout the body through the circulatory system. It sends oxygen to other body parts and removes carbon dioxide and other wastes. If the heart doesn’t work properly, other organs in our body will also fail.

Heart diseases are called Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Heart diseases like heart attacks affect millions of people every year. Many heart diseases are due to an unhealthy diet, use of tobacco, lack of exercise, etc.

So, World Heart Day aims to educate people on how heart diseases can be prevented.
