Today, we are observing World Toilet Day to raise awareness about the importance of toilets.
Every year on November 19, people around the world celebrate World Toilet Day in order to bring attention to the significance of maintaining appropriate sanitation practices in order to keep people healthy.
Sanitation is a public health issue that has to do with clean water to drink and the right way to treat and get rid of human waste.
Toilets play a key role in sanitation. They save lives because human waste spreads dangerous diseases.

- World Toilet Day is officially observed by the United Nations(UN).
- The day aims to educate and inspire people to take action towards dealing global sanitation crisis.
- Around 4.2 billion people around the world live with unsafe sanitation.
- The phrase “Let’s make the invisible visible” is serving as this year’s underlying theme.
- After using a public restroom, you could put yourself at significant risk of developing an infection.
- This is especially true in India, where many individuals do not practise proper toilet cleanliness.
- A dirty toilet can spread disease to the surrounding area.
- Thereby making the entire area hazardous for everybody who uses the facility.
Washroom etiquette for kids!
- Before you sit down, use an antibacterial wipe to clean the toilet seat and the area immediately around it.
- Always flush the toilet with the lid closed when you are using a Western-style commode.
- After using the restroom, you should ensure that the toilet is flushed and properly wash your hands with soap.
- When you travel, you should always bring hand sanitiser with you so that you can use it after using a restroom that is open to the public.
- Because doorknobs harbour the highest concentration of germs, you should always use tissue paper before touching the door knob or handle of a public restroom.
- Always dispose of used tissues and garbage from sanitary products in the trash can.
- Make sure that any used sanitary products are disposed of away in an appropriate manner.
