Yeti crabs with no eyes stay in the PacificHave you ever read of the yeti or the abominable snowman? It is a legendary ape-like creature taller than a person, that is said to live in the Himalayan mountains.

While we are not sure if the yeti exists, the yeti crab definitely does!

What is the yeti crab?

It is a family of creatures related to crabs, which has been nicknamed 'yeti crab' for its unique looks that seem similar to the legendary yeti.
 	Kiwa hirsuta was the first of the 'yeti crabs' to be discovered. Up to now, 5 types of yeti crabs have been discovered.
 	Kiwa hirsuta was discovered deep under the Pacific ocean in 2005.

What do yeti crabs look like?

The yeti crabs are about 6 inches in length and have silky blond setae (similar to fur) covering their legs and claws.
 	Yeti crabs live deep underwater where no light reaches and so they also do not have any eyes.
 	They are commonly found around deep-sea hydrothermal vents. There are holes on the seafloor which 'throw up' heated water.
