After three decades, late-evening life radiates Srinagar!
Recommended for India
Once upon a time, in a city called Srinagar, something magical started happening after the sun went down. For over 30 years, the city used to be silent and dark at night, but now, it’s bustling with life and joy!
Srinagar’s Nightlife Revival
- You see, the young people of Srinagar have found new passions – playing football and cricket under the bright lights in floodlit stadiums. Imagine playing your favorite games with your friends under the stars! These matches have become so popular that people from different parts of the Kashmir valley are also joining in the fun.
- Just recently, they had a special cricket event at Gani Memorial Stadium, right in the heart of Srinagar. Over 240 players from 16 teams came together to show off their cricket skills, and it was a huge success! Everyone in the city was amazed to witness such a big gathering.
- And guess what? The excitement didn’t end with the special event. Day and night matches are still happening with lots of enthusiasm. Families, even moms, dads, and kids, come to the stadium with delicious food to enjoy the games together.

All this playing under the lights has brought the people of Srinagar closer. It’s like a big celebration every night! The bright stadium lights make the city come alive, and the young folks who live nearby love spending time there. It’s like they found a new playground right in their backyard.

So, my little friends, Srinagar is not a silent and dark city anymore. It’s now a place filled with laughter, cheers, and the love of sports. The floodlit stadiums have brought happiness and togetherness to the people, and they want to build even more of these magical places in the months to come. It’s like a funny, happy dream come true for everyone in Srinagar!
