Indian woman’s food paintings become famous on Twitter. Varuna Sridhar lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She uploaded a painting of a cup of coffee on the social media platform.
The response was beyond anything she could have hoped for. Twitter users were unsure whether she had uploaded a photograph or a painting.
It received tens of thousands of likes and shares, including from famous people.

The term “hyper-realism” refers to the practice of painting food in such a realistic manner that the viewer is confused as to whether they are looking at a photograph or a painting.
Her painting of filter coffee quickly gained traction across all social media platforms. It garnered almost sixty thousand likes, and even well-known figures spread the word about the painting.
