The 67th National Film Awards were announced on 22 March. This is the biggest film awards in India.

The awards are announced by the Directorate of Film Festivals. The awards are traditionally presented by the President of India at a ceremony in Delhi.

What is the Directorate of Film Festivals?

the Directorate of Film Festivals is an organisation that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.

This year’s announcement awards films and artistes for the year 2019. It was supposed to have been held in May 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021 National Film Awards

This year, the Best Actor award went to Manoj Bajpayee for the film Bhonsle, and to Dhanush for Asuran. Kangana Ranaut was declared the Best Actress for Manikarnika and Panga.

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was declared the Best Director for Bahattar Hoorain. The Best Feature Film went to Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea. The Best Child artiste was awarded to Naga Vishal from Tamil Nadu.

Awards were also given for regional films, screenplay and music direction.

British environmentalist Sir David Attenborough also received an award for Best Narration for the documentary Wild Karnataka at the National Film Awards
