Pakistan beat Bangladesh, joining India in the semi-finals of the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup. Babar Azam is the captain of Team Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav hit an amazing 61 runs without getting out. This helped Team India beat Zimbabwe by 71 runs.

Both England and New Zealand also won their groups.

India vs Zimbabwe

India imposed a challenging total of 187 runs on Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe was dismissed for 115 runs. India moves to the top spot in Group 2. India will play England in the semifinals of the Twenty20 World Cup. 

• KL Rahul and Virat Kohli did an outstanding job for India with the bat.
• The bowlers from Zimbabwe got their team back on track by taking the wickets of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant.
• But Suryakumar Yadav played a superb performance, scoring 61 runs in just 25 balls.
• Thus bringing India’s total to 186.
• When it came to bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got off to a strong start by taking a wicket on the very first ball he threw.
• Arshdeep, Shami, and Pandya were also successful in taking wickets.
• Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl were aiming to create a partnership for Zimbabwe.
• However, Ravichandran Ashwin bowled Burl to break up the partnership.
• Zimbabwe lost the first five wickets of the game relatively early on in the first innings.
• Thereafter, Zimbabwe never recovered, and India ended up winning the match by 71 runs.

Bangladesh vs Pakistan

Pakistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the Twenty20 World Cup quarter-final. The victory ensured that Pakistan would go to the semifinals of the Twenty20 World Cup.

• Bangladesh was unable to capitalise on Najmul Hossain Shanto’s performance.
• In terms of their bowling, Bangladesh was disorganised in the field.
• They were unable to take advantage of the opportunities that were presented by the Pakistani batters.
• Both as a captain and as a bowler, Shakib Al Hasan was unable to make a significant impact.
• He only took one wicket while allowing 35 runs, making him Bangladesh’s most expensive bowler.
• In the bowling department for Bangladesh, Nasum Ahmed stood out.
• He was instrumental in keeping Bangladesh in the contest until it was his turn to bowl.
• After his session was finished, the Pakistani batters made sure they were keeping up with the required run rate.
• Some wickets were lost in the middle but Shan Masood’s knock was enough for Pakistan to win.
