Ukraine Students: Dreams Versus War!
Recommended for Secondary Grades
Once upon a time, in the beautiful land of Ukraine, students like Olena, Kateryna, Dmytro, and Taras tried to make sense of their lives in the middle of a big, scary war.
Olena, a bright student, shared a little secret: some students have never seen the inside of their university! Can you believe it? First, there was this icky virus called Covid, and then a big war began, so many couldn’t go to class. But the tides are turning, and many are hoping to hear the professor’s jokes in person again.
A Parent’s List of Worries
It’s not just exams or lunches anymore. Now, parents are asking if there’s a safe place for their kids during the bad days of the war. Imagine a mom asking, “Is there a nice and cozy shelter at the school for my kid?”
The “Boys-Can’t-Leave” Rule
The government, wanting to keep its people safe, has a new rule. If you’re a boy aged between 18 and 60, you can’t just pack your bags and leave. You need a special permission slip. So, boys who want to study in other countries have a tricky choice: leave before 18 or stay put.
Kateryna’s Shopping Spree and Life Choices
Then there’s Kateryna, who took a trip to Germany. She’s smart and wants to study hard there, but also wants to shop a bit because some of her favorite stores in Kyiv had to close. She tells us that many of her friends are studying in faraway lands, but the boys? They get it. The rules are rules, even if they’re just teens.
Dmytro’s Midnight Dreams
Ah, Dmytro! He’s 17 and dreams of fun nights out. In other parts of Europe, he could dance till dawn. But in Kyiv, there’s a bedtime: midnight, thanks to the war. His family told him, “Go, Dmytro! Find a safer place!” But Dmytro? He’s brave. He has big dreams of music and making Ukraine shine.
Taras’s Office on Cloud Nine
Meet Taras, another 17-year-old genius. He got a golden ticket to study in Poland, but guess what? He chose to stay! He’s not just hitting the books. He’s also the big boss at a fancy agency. Taras’s on a mission: make Ukraine amazing again.
Dreams Beyond the War
Before everything went topsy-turvy, Taras traveled everywhere! Europe, America, even parts of Asia. When peace returns, he has a plan. First, he wants to thank the nations that helped Ukraine. But then? A sneaky trip to Russia to… playfully poke everyone in the face!
Bringing It All Together
Life in Ukraine isn’t simple. The war changed everything, but these brave students? They’re full of dreams, hopes, and cheeky plans. They’re the real superheroes, and they believe in a brighter, better Ukraine.
Final Bell Rings
Curious readers, always remember: even in tough times, hope and dreams never fade. Just like Olena, Kateryna, Dmytro, and Taras, always believe in a better tomorrow.
