The UNSC members committed to avoiding nuclear war. UNSC members include China, France, Russia, the UK and the US . These countries are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council(UNSC).
UNSC members issue a common statement

These countries said that they consider it as their primary duty to avoid war between nuclear states.
 	The UNSC members also said that nuclear weapons should be used for defence purposes.
 	They said that a nuclear war cannot be won, therefore, it shouldn't be fought.
 	The UNSC members issued the joint statement before the modification of the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
 	Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons(NPT)
 	NPT is an international agreement that is designed to prevent the spreading of nuclear weapons. This treaty supports the right to use nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes.
 	The NPT was enforced in 1970. 191 states have signed the treaty including the 5 nuclear states.

Nuclear war is a military or polictical conflict which makes use of nuclear weapons.
