Recommended for Foundational Grades

2021 is coming to an end. How about taking a look back at the inspirational kids, who have impacted the world this year? Starting at an early age these kids are living examples of “Nothing is impossible!”

Here are some of the amazing kids, who inspired us:

  1. Callum Isted – A seven-year-old boy named Callum Isted, from Scotland had been invited to attend the climate change summit. Although he is only 7 years old, Callum is quite an environmentalist. He is running a campaign to help all the primary school children in Scotland to have a reusable bottle and access to taps for drinking water at school.
  2. Eric Khumalo – He started the coding program for his country youth and named it “Emzini WeCode”. He was inspired after attending an introductory coding and computer science class in Berkeley. Now, he is recreating the same experience for the youth of his home country.
  3. Vidyun Hebbar – 10-year-old Vidyun Hebbar from Bengaluru, India, won “Young photographer of the year” for his photo. It shows a web of a tent spider, while a rickshaw passes in the background. He calls the photo “Dome Home”.
  4. Nicole Oliveira – She is an 8-year-old girl living in Brazil, South America. Even though she is just eight years old, she has officially become the world’s youngest astronomer. She has already found 18 asteroids as part of a NASA project.
  5. Brigitte XieShe is a 4-year-old pianist (someone who plays the piano) living in the US. Last year, during the COVID-19 lockdown, she started to learn how to play the piano. She took classes over Zoom with a teacher, Felicia Feng Zhang. Now, just a year later, she’s become the youngest winner of the prestigious (famous) Elite International Music Competition.
  6. Rian Kumar – Barely  6-years-old from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Rian has set a world cycling record. He has cycled 100 kilometres non-stop in record time.
  7. Natasha Peri is an Indian-American girl who is currently studying in Grade 5. She passed the difficult exams of SAT and ACT being done by college aspirants. A top university in the United States has declared that she is one of the brightest students in the world.
  8. Abhimanyu Mishra is the world’s youngest Grandmaster (GM) in chess. Mishra is of Indian origin and lives in New Jersey, US. He has achieved his record at 12 years, four months and 25 days.
  9. Elizabeth Norman is a 7-year-old girl from England. She wants to be an astronaut in the future and is “mad about space”. She has been sending stickers with her social media links. Now, she will be the youngest-ever child to send an object to the Moon.
  10. Sanaa Hiremath is an 11-year-old girl from Florida, US. Sanaa has Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  However, this hasn’t stopped the 11-year-old girl from setting a Guinness World Record. She recently set the record for the largest mental arithmetic multiplication. Sanaa solved a 12-digit math problem without a calculator, pen or paper!
