Fastest-growing plant

Certain species of bamboo are the fastest-growing plants in the world. These usually grow at up to 91 cm per day or at a rate of 0.00003 km/h.

Bamboo belongs to the family of grasses. There are about 1500 species of bamboo in the world. They are found in Asia, Australia, North and South America, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Bamboo can grow to different heights and under various climate conditions, but it prefers tropical (hot and humid) climates. They can live for more than 120 years in the forest.

Fastest-growing plant

Bamboo is one of the most utilized plants on the planet because its cultivation doesn’t require much effort and has many applications. It is used in medicine, in the building industry, and for the production of various wooden objects. Not only that, but the bamboo shoot is also a popular vegetable in Asian food.

Bamboo gives 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere and takes more carbon dioxide than other plants. With this, bamboo greatly reduces the number of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.  This process cleans the air.
