Two dynamic forces in the music scene, Coimbatore rappers Shaq-T and Dasa, have emerged with a bold voice. Their latest EP ‘Throw It/Thooki Veesu’ unveils an eclectic blend of hip-hop infused with elements of their Indian roots, creating a harmonious blend that transcends borders.
Nikhel Kallingal, famously known as Dasa, welcomes us with a smile, his living room echoing the vibrant energy seen in the rappers’ music videos. Each piece of décor, including the iconic Salvador Dali inspired timepiece and portrait of The Notorious B.I.G., narrates a part of their enigmatic journey.
Their new EP is a visual and auditory feast. Dasa and Shaq-T have ingeniously incorporated elements of hip-hop, cars, gaming, and dappankuthu, weaving a narrative that’s both global and intimately local.
