Explore France: Dream Destination or Visa Obstacle?

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

Once upon a time in a land called Schengen, there was a popular place called France. Everyone wanted to go there! But guess what? They had the highest number of visa rejections too! It’s like being the most popular kid in school but also having the most homework.

Germany, on the other hand, was like the superhero of visa approvals. They had the lowest rejection rate of only 5.08%! It’s as if they had a magic power to say “Yes” to everyone. Way to go, Germany!

Important Details

  • Now, among all the Schengen states, France was the dream destination for Indian travellers. They had a whopping 1.38 lakh visa applications in 2022! That’s a lot of applications, my friend. Following France, there were Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. They were like the cool kids on the block, but not as cool as France, of course.
  • But here’s the funny part. France may be the most sought after, but they also had the most visa rejections. Oops! Their rejection rate was a whopping 20%, which meant they said “No” to nearly 27,000 visas. Yikes! Spain wasn’t far behind with 18% rejections. Switzerland had a lower rejection rate, but because they received so many applications, they still ended up rejecting over 13,000 visas. It’s like a rejection party!
  • Now, let’s talk about the heroes again. Germany had the lowest rejection rate among all the Schengen states, with only 11% of visas being turned down. That’s pretty impressive, Germany!
  • There were other countries with low rejection rates too, like Iceland, Hungary, Belgium, and Norway. But their numbers of applications were much lower, so they didn’t have as many rejections. It’s like being the least popular kid in school but having no homework at all.
  • So, my little friend, a Schengen visa is like a golden ticket to visit many European countries. But remember, getting approved is no joke! Keep your passport safe and make sure it’s not expiring soon. Also, show them that you have enough money to enjoy your trip. These things will increase your chances of getting that shiny visa!
  • And that’s the comical tale of France, visa rejections, and the Schengen states. Happy travels and may your visa always be approved!
