On December 1st, India will take over as president of the G20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this opportunity will give the country a chance to share what it knows about empowering women, and democracy. In addition to digital technologies with the rest of the world.

What is the G20?

The G20, also called the Group of 20, is an international conference where the world’s biggest economies, both developed and developing, meet.

  • The G20 meeting will take place in Bali on November 15 and 16.
  • It is likely that Prime Minister Modi will be one of the top leaders at the summit.
  • The Group of Twenty (G20) is the most important international group for working together on economic issues.
  • It makes up about 85% of the world’s gross domestic product (GDP).
  • In addition to more than 75% of all the trade in the world.
  • And nearly two-thirds of the people in the world.
  • India is a member of the G20 Troika at the moment.
  • Italy and Indonesia are also part of the G20 Troika.
  • The current, previous, and next G20 presidents make up the Troika.
  • The prime minister of India said that India’s role as president of the G20 would show how powerful and capable its 130 crore people are.
  • Modi says that the bright colours of India’s flag, like saffron, white, green, and blue, were a big part of the inspiration for the G20 logo.
  • This part of the G20 logo also shows the word LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment).
  • LiFE is linked to choices that are good for the environment and are responsible.
  • Both in terms of how people live their lives and how their country grows.
  • This will lead to actions that will change the world and make the future cleaner, greener, and bluer.
