Photo of Neil Armstrong on the Moon is up for sale

We know that NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon. It happened in the year 1969. This amazing event was recorded with photos. Now, NASA is putting the photo of Neil Armstrong on the moon on sale!

NASA is auctioning 2400 rare photos online through the auction house Christie’s. An auction is a sale where an object is sold to the person who offers the most money.

The sale event is called “Voyage To Another World: The Victor Martin-Malburet Photograph Collection”. It is happening from 6 to 19 November.

What photos can you buy in this sale? 

The only photo of Neil Armstrong on the Moon next to an American flag.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin taking a selfie with our planet behind him – the first-ever selfie in space.

The “Blue Marble” – the first fully lit photo of Earth taken by a human in space. It was taken by the crew of the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

These are just four of the amazing photos included among the 2400 photos. Some of them also include photos never shown to the public before.

The collection of original photographs are from a number of historic NASA missions. They have been shown in art exhibitions around the world.

The most expensive photo will be the one with Neil Armstrong on the Moon. It was taken by Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. It is believed to be worth about US$37,800 to US$63,000.
