Recipients of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar!

Children between the ages of 5 and 18 years old are eligible to receive the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP). These are children who have demonstrated remarkable achievement and are deserving of national recognition. 

President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2023 upon 11 children.  Among the recipients was one child who was born with a rare bone disorder but has gone on to become an accomplished singer.

Awards were given out in several different categories this year. The categories include Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Social Service, and Sports.

  • Rohan Ramachandra Bahir dove into a river to save the life of an adult woman.
    • He did so to rescue the life of a woman who had fallen into the Domri river in Rajouri as she was washing clothes.
    • Because of his courageous actions, he was recognised with a Bal Puraskar in the Bravery category.
  • Aadithya Suresh was born with a rare bone disease.
    • But that hasn’t stopped her from becoming a successful vocalist who has been in more than 500 performances.
    • He was honoured in the field of Arts and Culture for his contributions.
  • Shreya Bhattacharjee for holding the record for playing the tabla for the longest duration.
  • Sambhav Mishra for being an accomplished writer.
  • M.Gauravi Reddy was recognised for her accomplishment of being the youngest classical dancer.
    • He was nominated to the International Dance Council of UNICEF.
  • In recognition of his inventiveness, Master Aditya Pratap Singh Chauhan was given a prize.
    • He has created a one-of-a-kind technology that he calls Micropa.
    • Micropa can detect and filter out microplastics from water.
  • During the presentation of the awards, the President stated that children were the most valuable assets that the nation possessed.
  • Every effort that was made to construct their future would define the future of society as well as the future of the nation.
