Team India defeats Netherlands in T20 World Cup 2022!

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

India batters Netherlands in T20 World Cup 2022! After 10 overs, India’s score was 67/1, which was, at best, a slow start.

Bas de Leede’s over in the 16th changed the way things were going. Suryakumar Surya hit 51 runs off 25 balls, including seven fours and one six. Virat Kohli reached back-to-back fifties after hitting Fred Klaasen for sixes and fours.

The Netherlands bowled two tight overs, the 18th and the 19th, but were never in it again.

Axar Patel struck out their batting fulcrum, Max O’Dowd, with his second ball. Tim Pringle hung around for 15 balls before Virat Kohli took an amazing running catch.

Key highlights!

  • At the conclusion of three overs, only nine runs had been scored.
  • KL Rahul had fallen victim to a questionable LBW decision that was not overturned.
  • Rohit was out in the 12th over, having scored a shaky but ultimately gratifying 53 runs off 39 balls (4×4, 3×6).
  • India had made a slight improvement at the end of the 15th over, bringing their total to 114/2 with Kohli on 32 runs off of 30 balls.
  • This was the moment when everything began to alter.
  • The first one of Suryakumar’s two incredible boundaries came off the first two balls, with the batter amazingly opening the bat face at the very last instant to guide the ball through to the extra-cover boundary.
  • The second one of Suryakumar’s incredible boundaries came off the second ball, with the first one beating three fielders on the off-side.
  • Kohli jumped in, making quick work of a delivery that was going a little bit slower.
  • India’s innings desperately needed a dose of “wow” moments like this one.
  • Kohli reached back-to-back fifties after hitting Fred Klaasen for sixes and fours, and he eventually finished on 62 not out off of 44 balls (3×4, 2×6).
  • The Netherlands bowled two tight overs, the 18th and the 19th, but India was able to reach a solid 179/2 thanks to Surya’s two sixes in the final over.
  • Surya hit 51 runs off 25 balls, including seven fours and one six.
  • The Netherlands, who had a more powerful bowling and fielding unit, were never in the race again after that.
