Twitter Sells Toys, Talks Tweets!

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

Hey there! So, guess what? Twitter, the social media company, is making some big changes. They want to focus on things like videos, working with cool creators, and even doing some shopping stuff. How interesting is that?

The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk (you might know him from Tesla and SpaceX), and the new Chief Executive, Linda Yaccarino, have big plans for the company. They want to make Twitter more than just a place for ads. They want it to be a super cool app, kind of like WeChat in China.

Twitter’s Transformation

  • Yaccarino, who just started as CEO, had a meeting with some important people who invest in Twitter. They talked about all the exciting things they want to do. They even want to team up with famous politicians, entertainers, and news publishers. They’re keeping it all a secret, though, so nobody knows who they’re talking to.
  • Before Musk took over Twitter, things were pretty chaotic. They had to let go of lots of employees, and people were upset about the things being posted on the site. Even advertisers didn’t want to be associated with some of the content. But things are changing now!

  • Musk hired Yaccarino because she’s really good at selling ads. And guess what? Advertisers are coming back to Twitter. Big companies like Warner Bros, Mondelez, McDonald’s, and Walmart are advertising on the site again. That’s a good sign!
  • Videos are becoming a big deal on Twitter too. People are spending a lot of time watching videos, especially when they’re vertical (that means tall videos). They even have a show now called “Tucker on Twitter,” hosted by Tucker Carlson, who used to be on Fox News. Twitter might show ads and sponsors during these videos.

  • Yaccarino is pretty happy with how things are going. She says Musk is really supportive of her ideas, and they’re getting along great. It’s always good to have a boss who believes in you!
  • So, there you have it, buddy. Twitter is changing things up and focusing on videos, creators, and even commerce. They want to make the app more fun and exciting for everyone. Who knows what cool stuff we’ll see on Twitter in the future?
