World Theatre Day!

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

Every year on March 27th, the International Theatre Institute (ITI), theatre professionals and organisations around the world celebrate World Theatre Day.

This day is a celebration for those who recognise the value and importance of the art form “theatre,” as well as a wake-up call for governments, politicians, and institutions that have yet to recognise its value to the people and the individual, as well as its possibilities for economic growth.

Events and Messaging around the world!

There are a lot of theatre events going on all over the country and the world to celebrate this day. In addition, there are many important things ITI does. One of them is to send out the World Theatre Day Message, which is written by a well-known person and sent to people all over the world.

There are a lot of different ways that ITI Centers around the world celebrate World Theatre Day. Each year, a person who is very good at the theatre or who has a lot of heart and spirit is asked to talk about theatre and international harmony.

Hundreds of newspapers around the world print the International Message, which is translated into more than 50 languages, read to tens of thousands of people before shows at theatres around the world and is read in more than a dozen languages.

World Theatre Day’s Purpose!

  • Spread the word about theatre over the world.
  • It’s important to educate people about the value of theatre in all its forms.
  • To raise public awareness of the value and importance of theatre in all its forms and to encourage governments and opinion leaders to support it.
  • To appreciate the art of theatre and spread the love of theatre in all its expressions.
