Hey, kids! Imagine if you had a scrapbook where you could save all your memories, funny stories, and photos. Not just that, you could also see what your friends and family are up to! Well, I am that magical scrapbook, but inside your phone or tablet. My name is Instagram, and I’m here to tell you my life story!

Once Upon an Instagram App: My Humble Beginnings

Just like Spider-Man started as a normal guy and then became a superhero, I was once just an idea in someone’s head. A couple of tech wizards named Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger invented me in 2010. They wanted to make sharing photos easy-peasy and fun. Guess what? People loved me! Just like how cookies disappear from a cookie jar, I was quickly downloaded millions of times!

Picture-Perfect Moments: My Magical Features

You know how a Swiss Army knife has many tools? I’m kind of like that but for photos and videos. You can click pictures, make them look super cool with filters, and even post them for the world to see. Plus, you can chat with friends, see live videos, and discover new hobbies.

Stories: Your Day in a Nutshell

If you ever want to share your day but don’t want it to stick around forever like gum on a shoe, use Stories. They vanish in 24 hours, like a magician’s rabbit!

IGTV: Your Tiny TV

Remember those big boxes called televisions? Well, I have a mini-TV inside me. You can watch longer videos and even become a star yourself!

Emotionally Snappy: The Ups and Downs of Being Instagram

Just like you might feel sad when it rains on a picnic day, I have my lows too. Some people misuse me to show off or bully others. But hey, I’m trying to be better, like how you try to ride your bike without training wheels. Safety and kindness are my top goals now!

Flash and Freeze: What Can We Learn?

I may be just an app, but I’ve learned a lot. Photos can make us happy, but they’re not the full story. It’s like eating just the icing and not the whole cake. Real life is more than just pictures.

DIY Exercise 3: Scavenger Hunt Search for 5 interesting accounts that talk about your hobbies. Follow them and share with your friends why you think they’re cool!
