UN Day 2020 – #TheWorldWeWant

“The future we want, the United Nations we need: reaffirming our collective commitment to multilateralism”.

Some of the facts of ‘United Nations’:
• The UN was founded after the second world war to replace the League of Nations which had been so ineffectual in preventing war.
• UN peacekeeping forces comprise 116,919 field forces from 123 countries.
• The UN provides food to 90 Million people.
• The ‘United Nations’ was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 2001.

The main role of the UN is to maintain International Peace and security.

The main bodies of the UN are …
• General Assembly
• Security Council
• Economic and social council
• Trusteeship council
• International Court of Justice
• Secretariat.

The logo or flag of the United Nation *
• The logo and flag of the UN have become its symbols as it carries out its work on the world stage.
• I like the design of the UN’s flag. It also represents equidistant projection centred on the North Pole.
• And the most important thing that I liked the most in the flag is – the background of the flag is blue coloured and the water areas are marked with the white coloured lines (on the globe part).
