World Tourism Day – 27 September

Happy World Tourism Day!

We celebrate this day every year on 27 September. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) started celebrating this day in 1980.

We celebrate this day is to create and raise awareness about tourism internationally. This day also demonstrates the effects of tourism on social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.

World Tourism Day 2021

Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in Africa is the host country for the day. This year’s theme is ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’. The theme celebrates tourism’s ability to drive inclusive (all-around) development. It also recognises the role that tourism plays in promoting respect while generating opportunities for many millions across the globe.

On this day, different organisations and governments will have special events to mark the day. Hotels and travel websites will have special promotions and campaigns. On World Tourism Day this year, Rajasthan will also launch a special app to help tourists get around easily in the state. It will have details of tourists spots, transport services and other services that tourists need.
