What does it mean to be happy?
We all are well aware about that happiness has become very important in today’s world. All us want to be happy. But what is real happiness? In our daily life we constantly experience happiness and sorrows . But how do we determine that we are happy? Happiness is a state of Supreme well being and good spirits and come from within a person and is generally seen in those people who are satisfied with the life.
People often confused pleasure with happiness. Pleasure is consist only of some fleeting moments of cheer and joy while happiness is long lasting . For example: we had a joke and have a hearty laugh this type of emotion is a pleasure in contrast and elderly woman with many children and grandchildren is immensely happy because she knows that she is Loved by them all.
It means happiness is not an emotion like sadness, anger or frustration. Is happiness is commonly thought of as having lot of money ,power and fame? certainly not! if these things could give people real happiness then rich, powerful and famous people would’ve been the happiest people in this world. The money, fame, powers ,marriage etc. doesn’t give us real happiness. Although they are necessary and may give happiness for some length of time. Such happiness isn’t long lasting and real.
Real happiness of anyone is to be found within in the heart. No matter what trials and tribulations may assail our life. A deep sense of happiness can exist only in the innermost reaches of life. Which can’t be destroyed by external force. We should realise that how blessed we are with the precious gifts of health, family ,friends and life. We should thank god everyday for all these. He has given us so much and we should not complain about material things lack in our lives.
In the end I want to suggest that don’t anxious and stressed .Self-development make every person feel good about himself. It lead to happiness. Being loved gives a lot of happiness, to got this love you have to give it to. Finally remember that happiness lies in simplest things of life and it does not cost even a rupee.
