‘MERA SUNDAY, CRICKET KE LIYE’

Karthika Jithesh, a 10th Grader from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannur, is running a series of poems on cricket and cricketers every Sunday with us. We are very sure, you all will enjoy and relate to the players and Karthika!

An evolution of talent,

And the greatest among many.

Big hitter of the ball;

Playing a pivotal role in the team,

Smashing it big.

Carrying a billion’s dream,

And now living it.

Pedalling herself each day ;

And mounting till she reaches there.

Scoring runs even during bleak times,

And rising the team to triumph.

Curbing all the hard times,

And hitting them out for a maximum.

Encapsulating herself,

To move on with her expertise.

Excelling herself on the field,

Flaunting each run for her team.

Capturing each moment of her life with cricket.

Pursuing her dreams;

Cricket for life.

Chant her name, ‘SMRITI MANDHANA’.

A copious batswoman,

Who perked up many;

To lodge their fantasy.
